Avant Mein Kampf, avec Anne Quinchon

Make a donation and receive a gift: http://don.storiavoce.com/ For decades, our understanding of Nazism and Hitler's personality has been shaped by the infamous book written in Landsberg Prison (1923-1924), Mein Kampf. Yet, this work remains a piece of propaganda, with its deliberate omissions and, therefore, its lies. Far from being a demiurge born of spontaneous generation, Adolf Hitler was a man of his time, with an intellectual, political, and social heritage and influences. In her book Before Mein Kampf, Germanist Anne Quinchon-Caudal separates fact from fiction and traces the intellectual genealogy of the founder of the Third Reich. She uncovers the roots of his antisemitism and describes the decisive influence of Dietrich Eckart, a failed writer and poet, as well as that of the men he associated with within the Workers' Party. Our guest: Anne Quinchon-Caudal holds a teaching qualification in German and a doctorate in Germanic studies. A lecturer at Paris-Dauphine University since 2007 and an associate researcher at the I.C.T. laboratory at Paris Cité University since 2013, she has just published Avant Mein Kampf (CNRS Editions, 390 pages, €25). *** Facebook:   / histoireetcivilisationsmag   Instagram:   / histoireetcivilisations   Twitter:   / storiavoce
