MOLD Act Update, Certification Wins & IAQ Science | NORMI CE Training (06/16/26)

Big legislative wins this week: the federal MOLD Act has passed the Senate and now heads to the House, requiring mold assessments on over 200,000 military homes and naming NORMI as a recognized certifying body. Connecticut has also passed legislation recommending NORMI for mold remediation referrals. Connecticut has also passed legislation directing residents to NORMI and IICRC for mold remediation help. Two new certifications launch successfully. The NORMI Certified Contents Inspector (NCCI) course, opening a path to inspect mold-damaged goods for insurance and military relocation cases. And the NORMI Certified Microbial Screening Technician (NCMST) course, training them to handle baseline, interim, and post-remediation testing in-house.
