Dong Zhihua 董志華 - actor - action director - director Born in Beijing in 1961, Dong Zhihua 董志華 studied Beijing Opera 京劇 since he was 10 years old at the Beijing Central Art Troupe 北京中央藝術團 where he specialized in martial roles, also known as Wusheng 武生. In 1979, Dong Zhihua graduated and was assigned to work in the Second Troupe of the China National Beijing Opera Company 中國國家京劇院, playing many leading roles as soon as he entered the unit, also touring abroad with the troupe. In 1985, Dong Zhihua was selected by famed director Chang Cheh 張徹 to make several martial arts films and instantly became well-known for a decade or so, until the decline of Hong Kong martial arts films of the 90s.
