Beau Is Afraid ACTUALLY EXPLAINED (Yes, really)

Ari Aster's latest work has left audiences scratching their heads the world over. Beau Is Afraid follows the trials and tribulations of Beau Wasserman (Joaquin Phoenix) as he makes his way to his mother's funeral. It's a journey that will take him to his own personal Heart of Darkness as he confronts the truth about his fears, his anxieties, and his mother. There's been no shortage of attempts to "explain" Beau Is Afraid, but all of them have (IMHO) failed to really capture the most important aspects of this film. BIA is a work of subversive cinema that challenges certain ideas that are currently in vogue, and for that reason, there's been a lot of confusion in its reception. But make no mistake, Ari Aster's third major work has something to say. LINKS: If you like these videos and would like to help me continue to make them, then you can support me at the following link.
