Chicago: The Musical @ Hollywood Bowl — Press Day w/ Brooke Shields, Stephen Moyer & Samantha Barks

In July 2013, that one-of-a-kind, brilliantly sexy tale of fame, fortune and all that jazz — that's right, "Chicago: The Musical"— hit the Hollywood Bowl stage. Directed by cast alum Brooke Shields (in her directorial debut) and starring Samantha Barks (Velma), Drew Carey (Amos), Lucy Lawless (Mama Morton), Stephen Moyer (Billy) and Ashlee Simpson (Roxie), the Tony Award winner came to life like never before. In this archival video footage, it's Press Day for Chicago: The Musical's then-upcoming run at the Hollywood Bowl. This behind-the-scenes look at Chicago: The Musical features rehearsal footage of Samantha Barks running through "All That Jazz," as well as interview snippets with actress-turned-director Brooke Shields. In 2012, Samantha Barks starred alongside Jonathan Bailey in the Disney Channel series Groove High and made her film debut as Éponine in the film version of the long-running musical Les Misérables. This production of Chicago also featured comedian (and now host of long-running TV game show The Price is Right) Drew Carey, formerly of sitcom The Drew Carey Show, in the role of Amos. Drew Carey had previously appeared at the Hollywood Bowl as Wilbur Turnblad in the summer 2011 production of the Tony-winning musical Hairspray. Also joining the cast for the Hollywood Bowl production of Chicago: The Musical was Stephen Moyer, who trained in London at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, after which he spent five years in theater and toured with groups such as the National Theatre Wales and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Stephen Moyer's theatrical roles included performances as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, and the world premiere of Pete Townshend’s rock opera The Iron Man at “The Young Vic.” For the Hollywood Bowl production of Chicago, Stephen Moyer portrayed William "Billy" Flynn. Since 2008, he's been best known as vampire Bill Compton in the HBO series True Blood.
