#22 - From Scooter Tutoring to Startup Vision | Daniyal Rauf on Education, AI, and Humanity

In this interview, I sat down with Daniyal Rauf, founder of OC Mentors and a recent UCI graduate, to talk about education, entrepreneurship, empathy, and what it means to stay human in the age of AI. Daniyal began by tutoring students across Orange County, at one point driving over 2,000 miles on his scooter to help students and families succeed. That commitment eventually grew into OC Mentors, a platform focused on mentorship, academic support, and helping young people learn in a more human-centered way. In this conversation, we go beyond tutoring and business. We talk about what it was like being in school during COVID, how AI is changing the way students learn, and why it’s still so important to develop the ability to think, solve problems, and grow without relying on technology. The most powerful moment of the interview happened when I shared my founding equation for the FR33WRLD Mission with him: AI = | Σ (Humanity) | In true tutoring fashion, Daniyal broke my equation down piece by piece to help share how we can share more empathy and add more data points to the equation that show that we do value humanity. This conversation is part of an ongoing interview series featuring startup founders and builders using technology, creativity, and strategy to solve real-world problems. 🎙 Guest: Daniyal Rauf 🏢 Company: OC Mentors 🧠 Topics: Education, AI, Empathy, Human Capital, Entrepreneurship If you’re interested in education startups, mentorship, AI and humanity, UCI entrepreneurship, or building mission-driven businesses, this episode is for you. #EducationStartup #AIEducation #HumanCenteredAI #Entrepreneurship #OCMentors #UCIEntrepreneur #Mentorship #EducationStartup #HumanCenteredAI #Entrepreneurship #Mentorship #OCMentors Daniyal Rauf OC Mentors Daniyal Rauf interview OC Mentors founder education startup mentorship platform AI and education AI and humanity human centered AI UCI entrepreneur UCI startup founder Orange County mentorship COVID learning loss empathy in education what it means to be human startup founder interview education and AI human capital education
