Passive release techniques | Treating neck pain
In this video I demonstrate some passive release techniques for the neck. Passive release techniques like this are commonly implemented following your trigger point tissue work. They're a great follow-up as they allow you to go back and assess range of movement (ROM), identify remaining restrictions, and work into those restrictions to free up ROM. For the neck, you're looking for a broad approach using the pads of your fingertips and your palms to chase those restrictions and move the tissue as much as possible through ROM. Remember that you're not targeting specific tissues. It's a broad approach based largely on that ROM, rather than looking at specific areas or trigger points.
