Tischziachn in Ainet

The Hinterbergler Krampus held the Tischzoichn (Table Pulling) last Sunday at the sports grounds in Ainet. Another unique feature of this tradition is the decades-old practice of "Table Pulling" (tischziagn or tischzoichn in the East Tyrolean dialect). At these events, which are organized separately from the show runs, several volunteer men sit behind a large, solid wooden table and attempt to hold it upright for as long as possible using their own strength against the onrushing Krampus. The goal of the Krampus is either to tip over the table or to pull it far enough away from its starting point. This type of competition is decided separately for each round, as the men usually change after each round and the Krampus split up into different groups. Krampus Devil Table Ziachn Table Ziachn is a tradition that exists in Austria/Tyrol. In this tradition, people try to defend their tables from the Krampus. Although it looks brutal, it is handled with care; there are guards on duty. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus
