How AI works in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team

An overview on how the partner/wild Pokémon AI makes decisions in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Team, researched by reverse engineering Red Rescue Team. Note that AI in Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky is similar to Rescue Team, so most concepts explained here also apply in those games. Later games (especially Super/DX) made major AI improvements that won't be covered in this video. Errata: -17:30: Most boosting/self-status moves are actually treated as one-tile-range moves. Double Team is one of a handful of moves that use room-range, along with Calm Mind, Follow Me, Growth, Snatch, Swords Dance, and Wish. -17:52: Growl is also treated as a one-tile move despite being room-range.
