"Avatar" is a rich, nuanced story we're still noticing new details in more than 20 years later. The episode "The Cave of Two Lovers" has several interesting details that some fans have posited were meant to foreshadow a romance between Katara and Zuko, a plotline that was later abandoned and never made canon. But is there merit to this theory? What would a Katara and Zuko romance have looked like if the show had continued down that path? And does any of it matter anyway?
