Before Hurricane Melissa | Our Destination Wedding at Royalton Negril Jamaica Vlog
This video celebrates the union of me and Tiffany at the Royalton Negril Resort in Jamaica — just 2½ weeks before Hurricane Melissa hit the island. Before we dive into the highlights, please keep Jamaica in your prayers. We’re hoping for a quick rebuild and, most importantly, that no lives are lost. If you’re thinking about planning a destination wedding in 2026, Jamaica is unmatched in beauty, people, and energy — truly one of the best backdrops you could ever ask for. From flying out of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to landing in Montego Bay, and taking the two-hour drive to Negril, this vlog captures our entire experience — the highs, the challenges, and everything in between. 💍 The Wedding: Top-tier vibes. We went all out — custom tent, chandeliers, string lights — and easily spent 4–5x beyond the basic package. If you’re hosting a large wedding party, just know: destination weddings are built for smaller groups, and à la carte pricing adds up fast. But when it’s done right… it’s worth it. 🏨 Resort Experience (Royalton Negril): Overall Rating: 8.5/10 • Diamond Club Rooms: Excellent stay, top-tier service. • Food: Mixed experience — Zen Asian Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar was a 9/10, the Jerk Hut near the pool was 9.1/10, buffet was 7/10, Italian restaurant 3/10, and the wedding catering itself was a 10/10. • Vendors: The biggest issue was with the photography coordinator — not the photographers themselves. They tried their best, but the management behind them made things unnecessarily difficult. • Coordinators: Shoutout to Emwia, our Royalton wedding coordinator — professional, organized, and truly the hero of the weekend. 🎥 Planning Company (Destify): We gave them 5/10 — amazing charisma upfront during sales, but communication dropped off afterward. If you’re planning a destination wedding, book directly through the resort for better transparency and pricing. ☀️ Jamaican Perspective: As a Jamaican myself, I can tell you — the food, culture, and vibe hit different. But my rating comes from knowing what authentic jerk chicken, oxtail, and curry goat should taste like! My American friends rated it higher, but hey — we’ve got the real benchmark. 🌴 Takeaway: The Royalton Negril delivers beautiful scenery, strong resort amenities, and a great wedding setup — but expect some bumps along the way if you’re dealing with third-party planners. Still, it’s Jamaica — and nothing compares. ⸻ 🔗 Connect with The Outside Look 🎥 YouTube: @TheOutsideLook ( / @theoutsidelookusa ) 📱 TikTok: @TheOutsideLook ( / theoutsidelook ) 📸 Instagram: @TheOutsideLook ( / theoutsidelook )
