Crinkle Crags in the rain! Pike O' Blisco and Cold Pike (a 3 Wainwright walk) Lake District Walks
The Great Langdale valley in England's Lake District is a great starting point for some classic Lakeland walks. Previously, we have done the Langdale Pikes, but today Neil heads out of the Old Dungeon Ghyll to climb three Wainwrights: Pike O'Blisco, Cold Pike and the famous Crinkle Crags (where he pays a visit to the Bad Step), at the head of the valley. It's about an 8 mile walk, and around 3,230 ft or 985 m of ascent, and the weather on the top was... wet... Neil is an experienced hill-walker, and has climbed Crinkle Crags many times, but you should always be careful when walking; especially so in cloudy or misty conditions, and particularly on unfamiliar hills and paths. Always keep an eye on the weather, have (and know how to use) an OS map and compass, and make sure your navigational skills are up to finding your way in challenging conditions.
