In this episode, we'll climb the most famous Pulpit Rock, a rock that's considered the most iconic site in all of Norway. It wasn't easy, but we made it. 💪 Preikestolen, or Prekestolen (Hyvlatonnå in local lore), is a 604-meter-high, knife-cut cliff located above the Lysefjord in the Ryfylke municipality. The 25-by-25-meter, flat summit is one of the country's biggest tourist attractions. It was likely formed 10,000 years ago by the cracking of rocks caused by frost during the Ice Age. On the other side of the Lysefjord is Kjerag Peak, which is also a popular tourist destination. In local tradition, the locals call the uplifted rock Hyvlatonnå, which translates to "pulpit rock" because its flat, 25 x 25-meter peak resembles a lectern, a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.
