Wayzata Boys Basketball Rolls Past Cretin-Derham-Hall, Earns Third State Title in Five Years

The Wayzata boys basketball team shot 44% from the field and ran away from Cretin-Derham-Hall in the Class AAAA state championship to earn their program’s third state title in five years. The Trojans jumped out to a 12-point lead at halftime and outscored the Raiders by 13 points in the second half. Wayzata went 11-29 on threes, including four made three-pointers from Nolen Anderson, who scored a game-high 24 points and collected ten rebounds. Christian Wiggins poured in 24 points and went 8-19 from the field. Two big threes from Isaac Olmstead sparked Wayzata early; Olmstead ended up with 13 points. Wyatt McBeth had the play of the game with a baseline one-handed dunk early in the second half on his way to 11 points scoring on the night. The Trojans finish their season with a 28-4 record. Wayzata has now won state championships in 2025, 2023, and 2021. The Trojans were state runners-up in 2024 and 2022.
