It's a Working Man I Am - Susanna Heystek and Alice in Eckville 2011 - what a beautiful performance.

When I heard Alice singing this song, the words touched me deeply since my father (Susanna's grandpa) worked deep in the gold mines of Johannesburg in the 1940 's, and later in the iron mine at Thabazimbi, South Africa. So, the evening after their performance at the Eckville Dance Jamboree, I asked Alice and Susanna to perform the song for us around the campfire and they did in a very special way. The song is a tribute to the coal miners of Nova Scotia and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you Alice and Susanna.
