Thrillseekers tumble down hill in UK’s Cheese Rolling contest 2025

Footage from the annual cheese rolling event which took place on Cooper’s Hill in Brockworth, near Gloucester, today (May 26, 2025). The world-famous event sees daredevils attempt to catch a wheel of Double Gloucester cheese speeding down a steep hill at around 70mph. The contest's origins are largely unknown but the tradition has been going for over 150 years. The 180-metre hill is so steep (with a 1:2 gradient) that very few contestants manage to stay on their feet and end up tumbling down the hillside. German Tom Kopke won the first men’s race. Luke Briggs, dressed as Superman, took the second race. London student Ava Sender Logan won the women’s race.
