How We Design Garden Borders for Season-Long Color 🌿 Plus our First Annual Container of the Season

Today we're transforming our east border with a layered planting design focused on season-long color, texture, structure, and garden impact. Inspired by ideas we brought home from the Chelsea Flower Show, we're combining shrubs, annuals, perennials, and foliage plants to create a planting scheme that will look beautiful from early summer through fall. Along the way we're sharing our thought process for pairing plants together, creating rhythm in the garden, layering heights, repeating colors, and designing combinations that keep the garden looking vibrant all season long. We’re also planting up our Jensen urn with one of our favorite container recipes of the year featuring Proven Winners annuals, fragrance, pollinator-friendly blooms, and a color palette inspired by our recent trip to England.
