Kalasin: Today (April 22, 2025), at 9:00 a.m., at Wat Pho Chai Lub Nai in Lub Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kalasin Province, Phra Ratchawacharathammasophon (Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto P.), Advisor to the Ecclesiastical Region 9 (Dhammayuttha), along with Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto's disciples, donated 1,300,000 baht to construct a sick monk building in Lub Subdistrict, Kalasin Province. Phra Khru Winaithorn Chaiwat Yanasamon, abbot of Wat Pho Chai Lub Nai, received the donation. Along with government officials, community leaders, village headmen, village chiefs, villagers, residents of Lub Subdistrict, and many devotees, a large number of people awaited to pay their respects to Luang Pu. On this auspicious occasion, Luang Pu Maha Sila presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Sangha Hospital Building, the Mettadham Building. On April 26, 2025, a major merit-making ceremony, the "Worshiping Teachers Ceremony, Paying Tribute to Teachers, 2025," will be held by Phra Ratchawacharathammasophon (Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto), at Wat Phra That Muen Hin, Ban Thung Kradao, Kut Pla Khao Subdistrict, Khao Wong District, Kalasin Province. All disciples and Buddhists are invited to join the merit-making ceremony on that day, starting at 7:00 a.m. History of Wat Pho Chai Lub Nai Documents indicate that it was built in 1757. Within the temple grounds is a significant ancient site, the Sim, built in the 24th Buddhist century. Its architectural style is similar to that of Wat Pho Chai Ban Phon, Wat Pho Phi Phatthana Ram, Wat Pho Prasit Chaiyaram in Kalasin Province, Wat Ban Khu Sol, Wat Ban Sadao, and Wat Ban Som Poi Noi in Sisaket Province. The Sim's architecture is typical of the Isan region, facing east on a high lotus base of brick and mortar in a rectangular layout. It comprises three rooms. The central front features a staircase. The front and side walls are 60 centimeters high, while the rear wall is fully constructed, with overlapping bricks from the outside inward, rising one at a time like steps. The highest point is in the middle of the wall. Between the rear and side walls, a series of decreasing steps connects the two walls, forming a single unit. The walls encircle round wooden pillars supporting the zinc-covered gable roof. The wooden pediment is shaped like the sun and is decorated with mirrors. It is assumed that the roof features a dome-shaped roof, similar to the Sim Hall at Wat Pho Chai Ban Phon. Kalasin Province, or the Sim of Wat Sompoi Noi in Sisaket Province. It may also have only a front-wing roof extending out to cover the stairs, similar to the Sim of Wat Pho Phiphatthanaram in Kalasin Province. The Sim of Wat Pho Chai Lub Nai is unique in its 24th-century Isan-style Sim, reflecting the early development of Sims in Isan. It stands out for its simple construction and decoration techniques, yet emphasizes functionality. Encroachment and destruction of ancient sites are illegal.
