How Frontier Towns Punished Criminals
Justice in the frontier was often fast, local, and far less predictable than modern courts. Depending on the town, punishment could range from fines and public humiliation to jail, exile, hard labor, or something much harsher. In places where law enforcement was limited, communities often created their own ways of keeping order. In this video, we explore how frontier towns punished criminals, what happened after someone was caught, and why justice in the Old West was often as rough as the frontier itself.
