Siya Waoneka (Cover)
Hello, friends! I hope 2021 has been kind to you all so far. Five days in... what is it looking like? This week I visited James Chimombe’s catalog again and brought out this gem. Siya Waoneka was a staple on the Thursday night music video show, Mvenge-Mvenge/Ezomgido. Although the lyrics are the voice of a person to their lover who’s leaving them, the songs talks about not burning bridges, in general. It says “Now that you’ve decided to leave me, leave on good terms. You never know what it’s like where you are headed. If you find it hard, it would be easier for you to return if you haven’t burnt bridges. When you are out there, they are going to ask you what happened to us. What will you say? Will you lie and say I mistreated you? Paths, once they cross, will cross again.” I hope you enjoy listening and watching this one as much as we enjoyed making it.
