There were moments previously, where Walter used his alter ego as a means to an end. Like when he blew up Tuco’s office for the money. Though this wasn’t for a necessity or a specific task. Instead, when he saw a glimpse of the drug world again after trying to avoid it. He stared right back at it and asserted his dominance purely for power and control. This transformation signifies him not only using the persona, but fully internalizing it. The satisfaction he gets from scaring those two off, breathes life into him.
