How's it been working as a fund manager? I haven't made a video in a long time, and people even messaged me asking what happened. I thought something was wrong. For the past three and a half years, I've been working as a fund manager at Lief Capital. It wasn't convenient for me to run my own channel because I was selling courses, which might have created a conflict of interest, so I took a break. Now that I've left, I've had the opportunity to get back into making videos. In this video, I share some of the experiences and lessons I've learned from working as a fund manager at Lief Capital. Before becoming a fund manager, you have to take the licensing exam, which I find incredibly difficult. I take each level of the CFA once, but I took the Fund Manager License five times. The pressure of managing other people's money is partly due to the private fund. In some cases, I meet clients directly and understand their needs and life goals. Another part is the clients or internal staff. We have to manage short-term expectations, both internally and externally. Long-term investing is difficult, even with a clear plan, things can change after just a few months. The back office of a fund is very busy, much more difficult than I thought. My team is also quite busy, and of course, there's a lot of paperwork. But other teams, those who do reporting or data collection, are very busy. ETFs are a great tool, worth knowing about, especially if we're investing in bonds or if we know the whole group is doing well but can't differentiate between individual stocks. AI in investing works, and I think there will definitely be more of it in the future. Overall, it's fun. The pressure or difficulty of managing it sounds like I'm complaining, but it's something that keeps things exciting and challenging. What do you think? Please leave a comment.
