Auto belandt in water langs Kustweg Delfzijl na mogelijk achtervolging: twee aanhoudingen

A car chase may have preceded a traffic accident on Wednesday evening along the Kustweg, near the intersection with the Waddenweg in Delfzijl. Around 9:30 PM, a car veered off the road, drove through a grassy area, and ended up in the water. According to initial information, there were three occupants in the vehicle. Two people were found near the vehicle and arrested after being checked by ambulance personnel. There was initial uncertainty regarding a possible third occupant, prompting fire department divers to conduct a search in and around the water. For the time being, the police believe there are two people involved. A trauma helicopter and multiple ambulances also arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off for a police investigation.
