The Minimum Gaming CPU in 2026 | Ryzen 5 3600

Benchmarking the 6-core Ryzen 5 3600 AM4 CPU in ten modern and intensive games. I've nominated the Ryzen 5 3600 as the "universal minimum system requirement" CPU for gaming in 2026. It has enough cores and threads, and enough performance to maintain decent frame rates in modern games, and it supports all the standards necessary to run awkward games like Battlefield 6. However, I haven't actually tested it CPU-limited conditions to see if it actually fits the bill, so I've decided to rectify that.
