Iranian officials said no vessels would be allowed to pass through the strait until what they described as US intervention in the region ends. Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, held talks in Oman on arrangements for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, as Muscat and Tehran agreed to continue technical and political discussions.
