Remington 760 and 7600 Lubrication of O-ring preventative maintenance.

The Remington 7600 (also Six and Sportsman 76) and most 760 rifles have a rubber O ring in the telescoping forearm assembly. Periodically lubricating this area with silicone lubricant will help ensure longevity of the O ring as well as smooth cycling. If this O ring breaks, symptoms include a rattling forearm, or binding of forearm assembly during cycling, as the broken O ring can bind the telescoping assembly.
