PAINTING PALM TREES BY THE OCEAN - LOOSE WATERCOLOUR PAINTING I am painting palm trees by the ocean in this loose watercolour painting demonstration. Painting palm trees by the ocean is a great way to escape to a bit of sunshine even when you are trapped indoors! I have been feeling like my recent paintings have been tightening up and I really prefer a loose expressive watercolour style. I can’t help but think that the way we paint is the way we do everything. Loose relaxed happy painters make loose relaxed happy paintings. Any tension in the painter seeps into the painting. So I think painting is a bit of a window into the soul. I also firmly believe that painting is a way to unwind and relax.When you see a bit of uptightness appearing in the painting it is a chance to take a breath and let things go a little.
