Kolbe & Illenberger - Birdland (by Joe Zawinul)
Martin Kolbe and Ralf Illenberger recorded this tune in 1982 on the album "Flieger". It`s written by Joe Zawinul and published on the album "Heavy Weather" in 1977. Weather Report`s most commercially successful composition served as tribute to the New York City jazz club Birdland. The tune was also named in honor of the man after whom the club was named: Charlie Parker, the "Bird" himself.
