Russell Tovey has worked on both sci-fi and comedy production with Steven Moffat (Sherlock), Russell T Davies (Doctor Who) and Toby Whithouse (Being Human). Russell played George on the original pilot for Being Human and for over three more series and really enjoyed being part of the sci-fi community and very loyal fanbase. He has appeared in Sherlock, and when it broadcast on BBC 1 primetime, it was a nerve-racking experience while he checked Twitter for fan feedback. Russell is a huge Twitter fan and enjoys being able to gauge public opinions instantly. He likes how the sci-fi community is so social and loves a good forum and attending conventions like Kapow! to meet up with other friends and fans. Russell Tovey loves the sci-fi community and how, with the resurgence of Doctor Who and rise of online forums and Twitter, it is socially acceptable now to be a sci-fi fan. If he dressed for a Cosplay contest, he would go for an outfit like the ones from Ghostbusters. Russell Tovey is working on a number of projects. Grabbers is a film about aliens which descend on an Irish village and the only way to ward them off is to have alcohol in your system. He is also working on The Job Lot, a comedy drama for ITV, set in a job centre. The next series of Him and Her will be shooting later this year which will likely explore where Laura's (Kerry Howard) pregnancy will take her and Paul (Ricky Champ) and Steve and Becky's (Sarah Solemani) relationship will deepen. Russell thinks Stefan Golaszewski is a brilliant writer and the show has grown a huge fanbase.
