Nowoczerkask 1962. Utajniona zbrodnia ZSRR | Ostatnie imperium

On June 2, 1962, events that the Soviet authorities had concealed for almost 30 years unfolded in Novocherkassk. The military opened fire on protesting workers. Twenty-six people were killed, one later died in hospital, and 87 were wounded. Seven were sentenced to death, and 105 to long prison terms. Official figures are incomplete. The actual number of victims has never been determined—some documents were destroyed or classified, and witnesses were ordered to remain silent under penalty of death. #history #ussr
