25ft Bertram Project (Blob 109) - The Sides Are Finally Painted! After 7 long years of blood, sweat, sanding, dust, and fibreglass, the Denominator is starting to look like a real boat! In this episode we finally lay down the Jotun Penguard HB primer followed by the stunning Autothane silver basecoat and clear on the sides. The transformation is massive — she’s gone from a rough, patched-up hull to this sleek, glossy silver machine sitting on the trailer. Kind of looks like it’s a tinny now??? What do you think of the colour choice? Jotun hardtop hb is the correct hardner for jotun hardtop ultra for anyone that gets rightfully confused like me! Does not make sense but according to a guy i spoke to at jotun it is… we will find out next blob for certain ! Watch as we: • Prep and mask everything meticulously • Mix and spray the primer and topcoat with spray gun setups • Deal with the Queensland cool winter temperatures ( i know theres mich cooler places! Haha) and the challenges of painting a big Fibreglass hull • Step back and admire how far this 25ft Bertram has come This one feels like a huge milestone. The Denominator is no longer just an itchy Blob — she’s starting to shine and look like the custom Riva-inspired beauty we’ve been dreaming about. The full family project is coming together — custom roof, electric lifting motor box, plenty of other features, and more still to come if that is possible to write in a sentence. Who reads this?
