1970: Could COFFEE Catch on in BRITAIN? | Scene | BBC Archive
Schools and colleges programme, Scene investigates how an advertising agency works to influence the tastes and change the habits of young people. Alex Glasgow follows a group of ad men who have the unenviable task of turning the famously tea-loving British into a nation of coffee drinkers. To that end, they are planning a new television ad campaign for 1969, aimed squarely at the younger generation, and they have enlisted the help of a talented young director named Ridley Scott. Clip taken from Scene: The Coffee Campaign, originally broadcast on BBC One, Thursday 19 February, 1970.
