In the early afternoon of July 15, 2026, I arrived in the village and began my urban exploration, walking through the disordered streets of Vila Pantanal: the Curitiba that Brazil Doesn't Know. Right away I met two gentlemen who highlighted the extremely violent past of the neighborhood, as well as warning me about the dangers that still threaten visitors and residents who circulate in the region. Deaths, shootings, and violence are part of the memories of Vila Pantanal. Later, I ended up discovering the origins of the village and the reason for its name. In the end, I ended up in the most precarious part of the community and witnessed the great difficulties faced by its residents. I spoke with the people who live and fight every day for a more dignified life in Vila Pantanal. I listened to what they see as positive and what they believe to be the greatest difficulty of living in a Curitiba that is anything but a "Model Capital."
