How to avoid the double bogeys - miss on the correct side
You're going to miss lots of greens with your approach shots but it doesn't need to ruin your score. If you want to avoid double bogeys or worse, miss on the side of the green that gives you the best chance of recovering. If you get 'short-sided' and miss on the wrong side, you're in danger of racking up a big number. Using the 11th green at Cavendish Golf Club (Derbyshire) as an example, we look at the difference between missing long, left and right.
