GREAT BARRIER REEF - Agincourt Reefs, Australia July 2025

Hey guys! This has to be my favorite video I've ever filmed and edited. On the 3rd day of our Australia trip we chartered another cruise out to the outer reefs of the great barrier reef at agincourt. We started our morning back at the Port Douglas marina where we had our earlier excursion days prior. We boarded a fast multi-level boat called Poseidon part of Quicksilver's fleet. We got to sit up on the top deck and enjoyed the nearly 3 hour ride out to the middle of the ocean and the GBR! Our first stop was at Three Sisters where we were emersed in some of the most healthy, colorful, and large coral reefs I've ever seen in my young life. The highlight of this site was swimming with a 3ft Bumphead Parrotfish. Our 2nd stop was debatably the best of the 3 called Barracuda Bommie. This site had a mix of shallower ends of 10ft and a massive coral sea mound that went down nearly 70ft. I was brave enough to duck dive several times on this sea mound into the unknown where I saw some incredible fish and corals up close. The main highlight of this site was easily swimming with a large 5-6ft white tip reef shark for nearly 9 minutes straight! My adrenaline was pumping and I couldn't believe I was able to follow that long. Our 3rd site was one of the rarest sites aboard Quicksilver cruises called Stepping Stones. Our captain was raving about how perfect the weather was for this top dive site and that he hadn't been back there since pre-covid. This reef was absolutely breathtaking. I swam with a small 4ft Grey Reef Shark at about 20ft down. Then duck dove down 30ft thru some coral sea mounds that were huge! It was like I was a kid at a playground. This might truly have been the best day of my life!
