$12 Between San Diego and Tijuana Airports | Almost Retired in Mexico
Discover the most cost-effective and adventurous way to travel from San Diego Airport to the Tijuana Airport! In this step-by-step guide, Brighton West takes you through the journey without using the CBX (Cross Border Express). From free shuttles to light rail rides, navigate your cross-border adventure while saving money and enjoying the experience. 🌮✈️ Here's the overview: 1) From San Diego Airport, catch the rental car shuttle. Tell the bus driver you want to get dropped off at Middletown Trolley Station 2) When the bus drops you off, cross the highway and walk up hill for about two blocks. Turn left into the Middletown Trolley Station. 3) Buy a ticket (or use the Pronto App or your chip-enabled credit card.) Catch a train going towards San Ysidro (you'll see it on the signs at the station and on the front of trains.) 4) Take the train to the end of the line. Exit the train and walk past the front of the train. 5) You'll see signs for Mexico - walk that path and you'll go through a couple buildings. One of which is immigration where they will check your passport (or residence card.) 6) Continue walking with the flow of pedestrians until you see a bunch of food stalls. Welcome to Mexico! 7) At this point, order an Uber to the TIJ airport. The Uber will pick you up and drop you off at the TIJ airport. *Timestamps:* 0:00 - Introduction and Tijuana Airport Trick 0:56 - Cheaper Alternative to CBX 1:32 - Free Shuttle from San Diego Airport to Rental Car Center 2:10 - Importance of Informing the Driver 2:33 - Directions to Trolley 3:26 - Crossing the Street and Light Rail Challenges 3:56 - Purchasing the Transit Card 4:39 - Cost-Saving Tip: Ride Pronto App 5:00 - Navigating the Train System 6:09 - Walking to the Pedestrian Border Entry 7:00 - Border Crossing Process 7:31 - Entering Mexico and Finding Transportation 8:43 - Arriving at Tijuana Airport 9:18 - Time and Cost Breakdown Highlights: Learn a budget-friendly method to get from San Diego to Tijuana Airport.
