廃墟90％の島！日本最後の海底炭鉱の町へ行く50代男性【長崎県】池島

On my Kyushu car camping trip, this time I went to Ikeshima, an island off the coast of the Nishisonogi Peninsula in Nagasaki Prefecture. It's also known as the second Gunkanjima, and it's an intriguing island that I really wanted to visit. Once crammed with nearly 8,000 people, this island was known as the "sleeping city" that never slept, 24 hours a day, but time stopped when the mine closed in 2001. Today, 90% of the island is a "ruin" shrouded in deep silence, with only around 100 residents. The coal industry came to an end due to price wars with cheap foreign coal and accidents, but the huge facilities from the period of high economic growth still retain a Showa-era feel, making it a wonderful island.
