"Uncertainty in pollinator trends: insights from monitoring, modelling, and prediction" 🔵 About the talk While pollinators are key in providing ecosystem services; monitoring, modelling and predicting population dynamics remain significant challenges. We aim to address these gaps by (i) monitoring: testing traditional and novel approaches for pollinator collection and identification; (ii) modelling: the available time series reveal that short, highly variable and temporally autocorrelated datasets risk our interpretation of biodiversity change; (iii) predicting: we present a reservoir computing algorithm able to predict accurately to the near-term.
