Today I want to tell you about the gast Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer A2/ B1 exam. This is a new version of the test that appeared in January 2023. The test format and tasks are similar to the telc Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer. In this video, I will focus on the “Hören” (listening) module. I will share with you important tips that will simplify the listening tasks and help you score the maximum number of points. In addition, I will show you the tasks of the first part of the listening and you can even try your hand at choosing the answers that you think are correct. Then I will show you the correct answers, translate the text of the task and the audio itself so that you can understand them well. At the end, I will talk about the assessment, that is, how many points you need to score in order to pass the exam and you can check whether you scored enough points in the first part of the listening. The written part of the gast Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer A2/ B1 exam has three modules (listening, reading and writing) and lasts 100 minutes. Each part can only be completed within the time allotted for it. That is, all participants start working on individual modules together. Listening lasts 25 minutes Reading - 45 minutes Writing - 30 minutes For these modules there is an assignment notebook (Aufgabenheft) - a draft, where there are the texts of the tasks, but the answers must be put immediately in the answer sheet (Antwortbogen). This is a blank sheet. Only it is evaluated. The answer sheet looks like this: You do not need to fill in your personal data yourself. They are already filled in, you just need to check them and put your signature. Pay attention to how to mark the answer correctly. You must put a neat cross. In no case should you go beyond the boundaries of the field. This is how to mark the answer incorrectly. If you make a mistake and want to correct your answer, you must completely cross it out and put a new cross. There is no break during the written part of the exam. You can only leave the room in emergency situations, but you will not get back the time you missed. There is a break before the oral part. This part of the exam is conducted in pairs, that is, the participants are divided into pairs. Each pair has 16 minutes. There is no time for preparation. What you can have on the table during the exam: Passport, pen, drink It is forbidden to use dictionaries, phones or other gadgets and talk to other participants. First, I will give you some instructions, tips that will help you choose the correct answers. I will note that at the beginning of the tasks there is an example (Beispiel). This task does not need to be done. There is already a correct answer there. Before each task, you will have time to read the text of the task itself. Concentrate your attention on what you need to hear and do not be distracted by unnecessary information. It is not scary if you do not understand certain words. Some of them you do not need at all to complete the task, some are secondary and unimportant, and you can guess the meaning of others from the context. Connect your intuition and focus on what you know, not what you don’t know. Imagine that the words in the task are a picture from a puzzle. You don’t have all the pieces. But with the help of those that you have, you can already guess what the whole picture will look like. Connect your imagination and intuition. Be sure to choose an answer option, even if you are not sure of the correctness. After all, you can just guess. The chance is quite high. Where there are 3 answer options – 33 percent. The following tactics will help you choose the correct answer: the elimination method – throw out the answer that is definitely not correct, then it will be easier to choose from the remaining ones. The Trojan horse method: be careful with easy answers. Quite often, incorrect answers sound almost the same as in listening, but there is a word or words that make them incorrect. In general, words from all answer options can be heard in the audio. Therefore, carefully read the text of the task. And remember that the correct answers are usually paraphrased, said in other words.
