First RDC runs in years! Newport & Narragansett Bay Car Show trains - Portsmouth, RI - 6/21/2026
On 6/21/2026 the Newport & Narragansett Bay Railroad in partnership with the Old Colony & Newport Railway and Tiverton-Portsmouth Rotary Club operated excursion trains to and from the Newport Motor Car Festival. The trains ran from Melville to the event to bring people in without dealing with the traffic and parking hassle. The railroad successfully gave 290 rides (145 round-trip rides) over the course of the day with Budd RDC-1 BC-15. This happened to also be the first revenue solo runs of the car since it was brought back into self propelled operation.
