William Morris: design for living
Morris is noted a great pattern designer of the Victorian period, but his art was not simply a means to commercial success. For Morris it was always an essential expression of personal creativity, and his products an attempt to bring beauty into the lives of others. This talk will discuss how his design could be said to articulate his personal vision, and to what extent he was successful in his lifelong mission to promote art in the lives of all.
