【佐渡島】BROMPTONと自転車キャンプの4日間|日本海の青と黒塀の歴史、ジオパークを駆け抜ける島一周旅
【Overview】 Taking a ferry from Niigata Port, we headed to Sado Island, a world heritage site, with our folding BROMPTON bicycles. Over four days, we embarked on "Sado-Ichi," cycling and camping all the way around the entire island. The deep blue of the Sea of Japan stretching endlessly, contrasted beautifully with the black-boarded walls of the fishing villages. The dynamic terrain—fittingly designated as a Geopark—reveals its overwhelming scale as you feel the breeze through the handlebars. The rugged grandeur of Osado and the expansive vistas of Kosado kept changing face, filling us with a deep sense of fulfillment reminiscent of our past travels in Hokkaido. Sado is blessed with delicious rice, fresh seafood, and stunning terraced rice fields. At night, we pitched our tent in the front row of the island's finest scenic spots, like Futatsugame and the Himesaki Lighthouse. Immersing oneself in nature's best seats to simply enjoy food and shelter, while savoring local Daiginjo sake—what a pure luxury. Though there are ups and downs, the unique topography means each hill is short, offering a perfect rhythm that rewards you before you tire out. A world heritage history, Edo and Meiji period culture, and a wild yet gentle nature. Please enjoy the charms of Sado Island, discovered only because we traveled by bicycle and camp. 【Chapters】 0:00 Introduction 0:17 Boarding the Ferry from Niigata Port to Sado Island 0:46 Disembarking at Ryotsu Port, Crossing Kuninaka Plain to Mano Bay 1:28 Sobama Beach 2:49 Manjoshiki 3:24 Shukunegi's Historic Townscape 3:49 Tarai-bune (Tub Boats) at Yajima & Kyoshima 4:19 From Hokusetsu Sake Brewery to Himesaki Lighthouse Campground 6:33 Night and Sunrise at Himesaki Lighthouse 7:10 From Ryotsu to Futatsugame Campground 8:57 Sunset and Sunrise at Futatsugame Campground 9:49 Overwhelming Scale of Onogame & Steep Slope of Kita-Ushima Bridge 11:20 Ozare Falls and the Challenging Z-Slope 12:57 From Nyuzaki Coast to Meoto Iwa (Wedded Rocks) 14:01 Sawata Beach, Ameya Pier & Journey's End
