Can I Reclaim My Veggie Garden?!?! 🥴 Overgrown Summer Garden Chaos!

Oops I did it again! I let me vegetable garden turn into a scary jungle and I don’t know if I can win it back! It’s been looking so horrible I just kept ignoring it hoping it would go away and disappear 🫠 or maybe I could just disappear! Out of sight out of mind? When my husband informed me that we had beans and cucumbers ready to harvest I realized it was time to suck it up and go after it! I spent the day pulling weeds and winning back my garden pathways little by little. I had sooo many tomatoe plants that self seeded into my garden this Spring and I thought it was a good idea to let them all grow! Boy was I wrong! Thankfully a good portion of the crazy overgrowth was flopped over tomatoe plants which were pretty easy to pull up and dispose of so that made the job a little faster than I thought it would be. However, part way through a horrible discovery was made! I have Dodder! AGAIN!!! Nooooooo! Whyyyyyyyyy? I had to deal with dodder last year in one of my flower beds and I lost several plants because of it. Now we have it again in my veggie garden. This stuff is no fun and no joke! It’s a parasitic vine that sucks the life out of plants literally and then drops hundreds and hundreds of seeds that will turn into more Dodder the next year! Thankfully it was mainly isolated to a weedy area in the garden and we were hopefully able to pull it all up and dispose of it in trash bags to haul away before it had a chance to spread beyond our control. That’s the hope anyways. On the bright side the baby was able to join me in the garden and we got a decent harvest of green beans, a few tomatoes and a big cucumber. We also discovered a really cool moth and got to enjoy the good ole outdoors together. The vegetable garden is still in shambles, but good progress was made today! Now to muster up the willpower to tackle it again tomorrow! Can I? Will I?
