Bishop Ordination Of Most Rev Fr. Pablito M. Tagura, SVD, DD By H.E. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, DD

‪@THEPENSIONERS‬ Attending an ordination of a bishop for the ordinary people is not as common as witnessing an ordination of a priest. Bishops are ordained only once in a while when the need comes or when a post is vacated. While on vacation in Manila, a friend and schoolmate, Most Rev. Fr. Pablito M. Tagura, SVD, DD, was chosen by Pope Francis to be ordained as Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro last December 2023. He was ordained as Bishop at Christ the King Mission Seminary in Quezon City by H.E. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, DD last February 17, 2023. It was a good opportunity to be back to the place where I spent my two years college and meeting old friends and schoolmates. It was also a blessing in disguise to see the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, the 24 bishops from different dioceses of the country as concelebrants and the clergy of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. Indeed, it was a learning experience to witness before my very eyes the solemnity of the rites and the significance of the event to the community. The Nuncio showed appreciation of the outward faith exuded by the Filipino people. A big lunch reception for all guests was held in the compound after the ceremony and also for the new Bishop to extend his first blessing to individuals. Overall this was a very significant event to remember in a lifetime as he is a friend to be ordained as Bishop. Please watch the entire ceremony to learn from it.
