Winter Caribou Hunt in Alaska… Nothing Went As Planned

This is the winter Alaska caribou hunt we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. With fresh snow on the ground and the 40-Mile country finally opening up, we were excited to head north and see what Alaska had in store. The drive up gave us beautiful scenery, winter fog, and a surprise we didn’t expect — a trailer light issue that forced us to keep most of our driving to daylight hours. By the time we reached the mountains, a winter storm warning had moved in, bringing fresh snow and limited visibility. But that’s Alaska… sometimes the weather becomes part of the adventure. We rode the 6x6s through snowy valleys, searched for tracks, and soaked in some of the most peaceful winter country you can imagine. Whether the animals were bedded down or just out of sight, it was still a great day to explore with new friends and enjoy the backcountry. The season isn’t over yet, and if we can line up a snowmachine, we’ll be heading back for another run. Thanks for joining us on this beautiful winter trip!
