HIFU: the non-invasive facelift. See it in action.

Taking the plunge here for my first ever cosmetic treatment (bar Botox once a long time ago). I've opted for HIFU - a non-invasive treatment that lifts and tightens the skin. It's painless (although on the bone it hurt a little) and takes about an hour. It's an ultrasound treatment that works by heating the lower layers of the skin. This causes it to tighten up and as it's made micro-damage at that layer a healing response is triggered and the body goes to work to produce more collagen and elastin fibres in that area. The result is an initial slight tightening but over time - the next few months - there should be a further improvement as the new collagen will make the skin look tighter and smoother as well - I hope!
