2nd Gen RAV4 Maintenance | Changed Spark Plugs @ 258,690 Miles | 2AZ-FE/1AZ-FE | What Did We Find?
#ToyotaRAV4 #SparkPlugChange #TorqueTipsGarage In this video, we replace the spark plugs on our 2004 Toyota RAV4 with the 2AZ-FE engine as part of an ongoing oil consumption investigation. This RAV4 has reached 258,690 miles, and we wanted to inspect the condition of the existing plugs to see what clues they could provide information about how the engine has been running. We remove all four spark plugs, inspect the combustion condition of each cylinder, compare the old plugs against the new ones, and install a fresh set of NGK G-Power Platinum spark plugs (BKR6EG). Interestingly, the old Denso Iridium plugs were burning very clean, with no major signs of excessive oil contamination or abnormal combustion. This inspection helped narrow down the search as we continue diagnosing the RAV4's oil consumption issue. 🚗 Vehicle: 2004 Toyota RAV4 ⚙️ Engine: Toyota 2AZ-FE / 1AZ-FE family 📍 Mileage: 258,690 miles 🔩 New Spark Plugs: NGK G-Power Platinum BKR6EG We also previously replaced the PCV valve on this RAV4, which is another important step when diagnosing oil consumption issues: ➡️ Toyota RAV4 PCV Valve Replacement Video: • 2004 Toyota RAV4 Burning Oil?
