Lx Rudis & Winston Tong, Art Songs of the 21st Century

Filmed @ La Raffinerie (Plan K), Brussels, 01/04/2011, using my Leica D-Lux 4. ART SONGS OF THE 21ST CENTURY It could be said that, throughout history, the art song defines the very soul of an age, from stream-of-consciousness to epic realization, significant detail to grand design, the ephemeral to the eternal. So, somewhere between rhythm & reason, speaking & singing, pop anthem & underground anathema lies the state-of-being of Lx Rudis & Winston Tong's latest spectacle. Though neither calls himself a 'real' musician, despite former gigs as bandmates of the Units & Tuxedomoon respectively, these existential-schizophrenic outcasts are in 'reality' conceptual artists in performance, hence 'Art Songs of the 21st Century'. With literary inspirations from Ma Mère L'Oie (Mother Goose) to Aldous Huxley, visual references from primitive to post-modern & audio influences from dance to dirge, this collaboration of artistic exiles promises to be an unique experience.
