And through it, we try to figure out which of the two volleyball players performed better. Since we're comparing two outside hitters today, we'll be scoring like this. Each point in attack and block earns the player one point. For an attack error, we'll deduct one point from the personal score. For an ace, the player gets one and a half points, and for a service error, minus half a point. For a serve that significantly disrupts the opponent's combination play, an additional half point is awarded. And since these are outside hitters, for a good reception and successful defense, the player's total score increases by 0.5. For a perfect reception, it's +1, and for a productive error, minus one. Don't forget about clutch points, which come into play when both teams score over 20 points, and the difference in the score is no more than 3 points.
