tour Sardegna 11°- Platamona -Porto Torres -Necropoli Su Crucifissu Mannu-Stintino -C. Paradiso-HD

A little paradise just a few steps from the beach. The Platamona pond is one of the most important wetlands in northern Sardinia. A recognised site of community interest, it is approximately three kilometres long. The waters that feed it are filtered by the dunes and made particularly sweet. And it is precisely the sand dunes, covered with vegetation typical of ponds, that create a perfect setting where birds and amphibians have found their natural habitat and offer an extraordinary spectacle for nature photography and birdwatching enthusiasts. A stop not to be missed even just to enjoy an extraordinary spectacle of nature in complete relaxation. Porto Torres Founded by the Romans in the 1st century BC on the mouth of the Riu Mannu, it was the first Roman colony on the island. Home to the largest industrial area in Sardinia, after the collapse of the sector and the process of deindustrialisation linked in the meantime to the establishment of the Asinara national park, it finds itself in a phase of reconversion from an industrial hub to a tourist hub. The center of Porto Torres is located on the northwestern part of the Sardinian coast, within the Gulf of Asinara in a strategic position. It has a territory of 10,200 hectares, exactly half of which is made up of the Piana island and Asinara, which is home to the national park of the same name; most of the non-island territory is characterized by the second Sardinian plain of Nurra, with the exception of some hills, the highest of which is Mount Alvaro (342 m), which hosts an open-cast quarry where limestone is extracted. Within its territory is the Gennano pond, located in the industrial area of Porto Torres, the largest in Sardinia with its surface area of 23 km². It has a particular coast: to the east extends the coast of Platamona. The search for the precise location of the hypogeal necropolis of Su Crucifissu Mannu was rather challenging given the almost total lack of indications. It is an archaeological site located in Nurra, a region of north-western Sardinia. The necropolis is located within a portion of territory which records a significant presence of prehistoric monuments a few hundred metres apart. The burial ground, dug out of a horizontal bank of limestone rock, includes at least twenty-two domus de janas. The tombs are all multi-celled, that is, composed of several communicating rooms; along the walls of the large main room, which in some hypogea is equipped with a central pillar, the smaller cells open up from which in some cases other small rooms branch off radially, until reaching, as in the case of Tomb XIII, a total of 14 rooms. Stintino is a small village that has become famous thanks to its unique natural views, the presence of the characteristic Nuraghi, and above all its famous, pristine, white beaches, the true pride of the area. This town (founded in 1885 by some local fishermen) is also one of the privileged points for easily and picturesquely reaching the Asinara National Park reserve. Stintino's most famous facet is its beaches, strips of sand overlooking an emerald sea. There are many and varied, including La Pelosa, by far one of the major attractions of northern Sardinia and a must-see for anyone passing through. White sand, crystal-clear sea, and shallow waters are the ingredients that make up this little corner of paradise, which takes its name from the tufts of Posidonia oceanica present. A few steps away you will find La Pelosetta, a sort of smaller version of La Pelosa, which offers the same inviting features. Another must-see destination is Ezzi Mannu beach, a long stretch with a shoreline partly made up of small quartz pebbles, while if you love surfing and windsurfing, you will find your ideal spot at Saline, a beach reachable via a dirt path and which on windy days offers surfing waves: the name is a tribute to the presence of the characteristic salt pans dating back to the 13th century. While along the town there are many tuff cliffs with cliffs higher than 30 m, interrupted only by beaches such as Balai, Scogliolungo and Renaredda. The municipal territory is bordered to the north by the Gulf of Asinara and for the remaining cardinal points it borders exclusively with Sassari. Located in the municipality of Trinità d'Agultu, Costa Paradiso, founded in the late 1960s, is now one of the best-known tourist centers in northern Sardinia. All immersed in lush Mediterranean scrub, sheltered from the hustle and bustle, in a dreamlike setting between Porto Torres and Santa Teresa di Gallura. The first beach you reach is Li Cossi, which is not very large and less crowded than other beaches. It's reached via a path with ups and downs of stairs.
